The program included music from the joyous 16^th-century polyphony of Palestrina, Lassus, Victoria, Brumel, and Byrd, to spectacular 17^th-century settings by Praetorius and Monteverdi, to exquisite 20^th-century pieces by Joubert, Britten, Tavener, and Pärt (including his haunting Magnificat).
